Hi. Does anyone know if you can get a power porter into the back of a Volkswagen caddy highline? I'm sure it will go in but does anyone also know if you can fit 13ft rods in it? Many thanks

13ft rods go in back of mine and that just standered size caddy

I can get my mk2 fat boy in no problem. When the front frame is up against the bulkhead I have about 25mm clearance from the door.

Thanks for the replies. Think I might be buying one but needed to make sure the rods would go in mainly.

I have a Caddy, not the LWB.

I had a 12.6 rod holdall made to size and I can just get it in diagonally but also needs to be on an angle. I use a ramp and push my barrow on so need to leave enough room on the barrow for the rod bag to go at an angle ie can't pile it right up.

So if your barrow is going in assembled it's going to be tight. If it's collapsed down should be fine cos gives you more of an angle.

Thanks for that. So it sounds promising if I take the rods off and maybe couple of other things. And hopefully I can do same with 13ft rods as you do with 12ft 6 ones.

There must be a few on here with a Caddy and 13ft rods so hopefully one will confirm

It will, Rods at an angle or remove the bulk head in a std caddy.

I've left the bulkhead in my standard caddy and the 12.5 go in at an angle on top of the barrow. I think 13ft might just go but it's tight.

Any idea can you fit a Bic Sportyak 213 in the back?

Well thanks for the replies. I was set to buy one from a mate but hes sold it to someone else. Think I'll carry on with my original plan and look for a decent Ford connect. Thanks all.

I have a 2 litre high Lomé and wheel my Power porter straight in the back, take off the handles to allow a bit of play and lay my 13 foot rods over the top with no issue
