Hi guys anybody use the sabre carp cradle the framed one in Dpm or green I think there the same. What's the size like for fish upto 40lb how deep is it compared to say the Nash ones. Good points or bad. Not seen one in the flesh but need a new cradle been using the Nash one for years but not interested in paying £100 + for a new one. Also any other alternative in that price range Ngt or sonik or anything else you can recommend. Thanks guys

I have one of the original saber cradles - not with adjustable legs. I don't use it much these days as it's a bulky bit of kit but it is rock solid and would easily take a 40lb carp with room to spare. Not sure how it compares size wise to the new versions but mine is virtually the same length as a fox str weigh sling.

Hi mate that's interesting to know as I use the fox str sling so can relate to the size and I prefer the sling to sit on the top not fall in find it easier. It's the one with the adjustable legs that I'm looking at though. Thanks for the reply 👍

The str is 124cm long the sabre cradle is 102cm long so it will sit on it fine

I have that set. Great bit of kit. Smaller than most slings and cradles out there but a 23lb mirror this weekend fitted easily to it. Wouldn't use in France but fine for my waters in the UK. Added bonus is that it folds down to a very compact size.
