Hi folks,
I've been considering taking the plunge and venturing solo to France in to have a go on some of the public waters . I've done a few trips over the years to private/booking type French venues but fancy a bit of the wilder stuff, and having the flexibility to move around and try different venues etc.
In terms of lakes, there is a fair bit of information out there but its difficult to sort the wheat form the chaff, and I don't want to turn up somewhere to find its a nightmare, either from a busy-ness or safety point of view.
I'm hoping some people might be able to share their experiences/recommend a few venues within 3-4 hours of Calais. I don't want or need to catch monsters, but looking for quiet/ safe(ish) sort of venues for my first trip over, with a view to doing a bit of exploring to recce some venues for future trips.
I guess I'm looking for a starting point rather than going blind, and understand people may be a little secretive etc, so If anyone would rather share via PM that's cool.
Any help appreciated
Thanks all,
Phil
