I have recently had a cardiac arrest and stroke and have had a pacemaker fitted.
My left shoulder is very painful to move but I can use my left hand OK.
I am getting so bored watching Escape to the Country and Homes in the Sun and want to get fishing.
Amy advice would be very welcome.

Not entirely the same situation as you but i shattered my thumb and had it reconstructed so had it in a cast. I like you got sick of tv so tried fishing, was really hard work but managed to get the rods out but what dawned on me was how I'd safely handle a fish on the bank and decided I couldn't do it so gave up till it healed but good luck to you mate. If you have the drive and passion anything's possible

I know a chap called Ash Larman. Those of you that used Leslies will know him. Ash was born with only one hand, buts he's certainly never let it hold him back. He's as good an angler as you'll ever meet. I certainly wouldn't mind being a fish or two behind him. He runs marathons and has a very successful job in the tackle industry. Having a disability is as much a mind set as anything else and he's proof that it hasn't and won't hold him back. All round top bloke as well.
You may have to adapt for a while, maybe buddy up, maybe fish shorter sessions. But you certainly don't have to give up. About ten years ago I developed ME. I was ill for about 18months. For a year of that I couldn't night fish, couldn't push a barrow, but one of my best mates used to come on day only sessions with me to get me out. Which I have always appreciated.
