Hello,

I have the shimano ci4+ xtc 14000 reels at the moment.
No problems at all with it.
But i have seen the daiwa emblem 45 gold spool and really liked the look of it.
What do you guys think, keep the Shimano or go for daiwa.

Keep what you have if your happy with them. Your not going to gain anything by changing them.

Don't think you're going to gain anything tangible by switching, other than a nicer looking reel if you prefer them. The daiwas are heavier, weight is one of the great things about the ci4s.

I impulse-bought a set of tournies last year and sold my Ultegra ci4s to pay for them. 3 months later I'd sold the tournies and bought another set of nearly-new ci4s and was out of pocket for the privilege. Brings to mind a certain phrase about a fool and his money... 😬

The grass ain't always greener in reality.... I know I just fall victim to the excitement of buying new gear as a ‘fishing fix' sometimes, as a busy job and young kids means I don't get on the bank as much as I like these days. When I actually get some fishing done some I never buy new kit!

Think i will keep the shimano, also i think the shimano is better in terms of quality and specs.

The emblem 45 scw is the best reel I have used. I have had basias and i have techniums.

It's the best looking reel I've had, I preferred the entohs in use though. I want to switch to flourocarbon line soon, but I know its gonna be a pain getting it moving

The new red / black emblems look great.

Thinking of swapping my emcasts out for either these or the gold emblems. Are the ci4 with the extra money.

I'm thinking exactly the same.

I really want the 1 touch folding handles you get with the gold spool but without the gold spool
