Fishing here on Friday, wondering what baits work? What rigs/tactics to use?

What peg have you booked on,i have always done well on maize or white baits like sticky baits krill pop up.Last time i fished it the pads in the margins were ridiculous.If you tell me where you are fishing I can give you a better idea of spots

I'm fishing peg 6 and my two mates 7 and 8.
I've bought some Sticky bloodworm boilies and pop ups. Buying some Krill boilies and white pop ups on Friday.
Do you need to fish a chod/heli rig if fishing open water? Heard it's silty

Peg 6 and 7 are my two favourite pegs.Peg 6 put one rod to the left of the island under a bush which normally has red berries on it and one rod straight out tight to the island,There is a tree trunk lay on its side they like to hold up behind it,dont cast too far to the right tight to the island as there is a horrible snag,also keep an eye on the inlet pipe in the top right corner.Peg 7 put one rod to the right of the island by the dead looking tree and one rod straight out to the right of a patch of lillies,you can see a gap in the snags they patrol in and out of.Peg 8 I have never done well on but try get tight to the snags.I fish stiff hinge or Ronnie rigs on helicopter set up.Mark the bailiff will see you right.I hope you have a few out

Thanks for that. Is peg 6 a single peg and pegs 7/8 a double? That's how it's been sold?
So Ronnie rigs both with pop ups?

Yes it is,they are close enough together for a social though.You can use most set ups and rigs as its not a big cast so the silt is not too much of an issue with light leads.I would use what you are confident with,if the weather is warm they will take on the surface.Inbetween the two islands by the lillies is shallow and they can be caught there on the surface

So report on the Match. Everyone blanked. Two lads were opposite us for 48 hours and nothing. Guy who had egg the previous 24 hours had nothing. Dad and lad to the right of us the same, and we had 8 rods in and not a sniff. There were no signs, not even on the surface. Weird one

Thats unusual on there,it can be a very strange and tricky water but when it switches on it can be easy.Im just glad it wasn't only you guys that blanked though or my advice would be looking ****

Keep an eye on catch reports as it can fish very well in the winter
