Just spoke to someone who works for carp porter they are struggling to get the stock in from China due to the current Covid crisis

Even though on their website they still say:
We are one of the few companies left who design and manufacture the product of our own factory in England. (You would be surprised how much carp tackle is made in the far east even by the better known companies). When you purchase one of our products you are assured of a top quality hand made British product.

I think they might be stretching the truth a bit there. Perhaps they should have said designed and assembled in the uk. Or mostly manufacturerd in the uk.
I really hope that this crisis sees more companies looking to manufacture back in the uk.

As far as I'm aware (it's been discussed on here before) it's only maybe the motor/wheel assembly for the Power Porters that is made in the UK now the rest is from China

I wouldn't count on it. Companies will be looking to save every penny now and if they can buy in China they will.
Not all Chinese stuff is rubbish, problems come either when accountants get involved or you don't hammer the Chinese every day to do the job well.

Thanks for the replies, I thought they might have gone pop as many companies have through this unprecedented time, hopefully I'll pick one up at some point I had one some 20 years+ ago but that has long gone, i've got the Fox jobbie but it's not the best TBH.
