Hi All,

Appreciate that these reels are mentioned in a couple of posts, but wondered if anyone had more recent/longer term experience of them?

I know the drag is quick (though have been in touch with Daiwa who suggest they may be able to provide a replacement washer to slow it down a touch which is fine for my needs - i never fish reels 'free spool' and tend to have them pretty tight in the rests anyway).

I've had some for just over a year now, bought originally to go on some 10 footers that only got used now and then on small waters. They're so good I've moved them to my main 12 footers and use them exclusively. Drag is fast but controllable, actually to the point that I now use the drag to play fish rather than backwind for the first time in over 25 years. The only thing I would say is that the drag washers are not waterproof, but other than that I really can't fault them.

I've had mine for over a year.
Generally very good for the money - 1 irritation is i find the line goes very easily behind the spool!
Not a major issue but it winds me up when it happens!

I've never had an issue with the drag either - yes it's fast but nice and smooth and as already mentioned easy to control.

Thanks both.

Picked up a set at the weekend. First use and was very impressed. Drag is quick but didn't find it an issue at all.
