I realise this is a question that probably gets asked quite a lot, but I'm not sure where to start. I've recently got back into carp fishing, after a ~12 year hiatus. Needless to say, much of my tackle is quite outdated!
Having upgraded to a lovely pair of Shimano Ultegra 14000s recently, I'm now on the search for a pair of 12ft rods to go with them. However, having been out of the fishing world for so long, I'm not really sure where to start looking. One of my current rods is a 12ft Trakker Specimen 2.5lb TC, which I bought probably 16 years ago and has caught me a lot of fish in the past while being very enjoyable to use. So naturally, I started looking at some Trakker rods, particularly the Propel. However, there really aren't any reviews for them out there.
The price range I'm looking at is probably around £150 each, and here are a few that have caught my eye:
-Trakker Propel
-Fox Horizon X4
-Shimano TX-5
Does anyone have any experience with any of these rods, or have any alternatives to recommend in the same sort of price bracket?

I've also been looking at upgrading my rods recently and had a couple of recommendations for the Shimano Tribal TX-2. I think i'm going to go for them in the 12ft, 3.25lb tc. Plus at £90 each they're well within your budget. Take a look mate, they might suit you aswell.

Honestly for your budget I'd look at the used market. A lovely set of cork handled Greys aircurve in 3.5 for your budget on ebay. You'd probably get away with a £400 offer and end up with a set far superior than those you've listed and can arrange courier out of the change.

A friend actually recommended a set of those. But purely from a subjective, aesthetic point of view, they're not for me.

I've got a set of TX2's and also the TXA spod rod all in 13ft. For the money they are shockingly good value, great performers and can do 35 - 40 wraps NP.
Absolute no brainer for the money, my 12 footers are Freespirit S-lites and the TX2's are as good if not better rods IMO.
