So I have been using black buzz bars and sticks for a couple of years but they do look tatty now.
I'm pretty hard on my kit.
Dug out my old stainless from Solar. Donkeys years old but looks brand new. Downside it weighs an absolute ton. Which is the main reason I went over to the black in the first place, just to save on a bit of weight.
Thinking about treating myself to some new stainless. Does the new stuff still weigh as much as twenty year old kit, do you know?

the old Solar stuff is selling for silly money now !! there is a Facebook page you could be sitting on a lot of money saw an original baiting needle go for 60 quid recently

I have a Jag compact 316 stainless pod, that come with 4 adjustable bank sticks adjustable 3 rod buzz bars and the pod base, the whole lot weighs around 2.5 kg , the pod on its own is around 1.5 kg , the sick are really light weight, 8inch adjustable weighs 150 grams or in old money 5.5 oz.
obviously only my opinion that they are fairly light in comparison to older kit , i haven't weighed any old stick lately, I guess there will always be the trade off of strength and durability for light weight, personally i normally use a barrow so the weight doesn't bother me anyway and I'm really not bothered by the cosmetics of stainless which some don't like.

Worth looking at some titanium sticks? I have a fantail pod from defiant but tend to use it as single sticks. Feel like they'll last me forever and much lighter weight than the matrix chunky stainless they replaced.

Wychwood did Titanium banksticks, I have a few, very light (compared to stainless) and strong. Sadly they stopped doing them a while ago and they don't seem to turn up second hand.

Or go for Chris Brown stuff if you want to stick with aluminium but want the best there is, lifetime guarantee too.
I have had CB stuff for 30+ years, admittedly they do wear the paint off over time were they go into hard ground, but I give mine a quick respray now and again and they look good again. Build quality wise and strength wise they are top notch.
