Anyone have either a Diawa 45 Sld QD or Shimano 14000 xtb I'm split between the two but any advice if you have either of these would be helpful cheers

I've got the shimano 14000 xtb, personally I think they are great reels. Real workhorse's, good line lay, fast retrieve, good clutch.

Had them for about 7 years and had fish to 44lb on them.

Not an exact comparison here granted but I've got a set of the Daiwa Basiar 45 QD's and just swapped my 12000 XTA' for a set of 10000 XSB silver mags, not even in the same league as the XTA's those but that's another story.

I do like my 45 QD's and I can only assume the 14000 XTB's are along similar lines to the silver mags, and it's a personal preference thing this as everyone will have a view, but out of the two sets I have I think I prefer the Daiwas, but admittedly mate there's not much in it, and both the reels you mention are quality reels

If I can't get on with my XSB's I might look for a set of the bigger 12000 XTC's.

Still regret selling my original 5500 Iso's should have kept hold of those.

My old man has just sold his ultegra's and got 45's and he's very impressed with them
