Having a nighmare with wind knots using this braid. First time I've used braided mainline so I've nothing to compare it to, but I've not overfilled the spools, and I'm wetting each time I cast, is there any other reason this is happening?

I've had this and although I did not think they were overfilled they were, messed around and got the line down a lot more and they disappeared.
Also had some spray that the matchmen use when feeder fishing like a water/silicon spray thst helped too, cant put my finger on what its called.

To be honest i've never used Gardner Braid.
But i used a cheap braid from Ebay and then went on to use Fox Rage on my Marker/Spod set up.
I had wind knot issues with both of those, and i put it down to the profile where with both of those braids the fibres seemed to flatten down after short term use.
So in other words the braid profile was no longer round.
I've since gone on to Power Pro Braid and have yet to have one wind knot issue (touch wood), it's so much better and has not flattened like the cheaper braids did.
Some people might think im talking a load of balls, but that's my experience.

Are you maybe getting some slacker turns on the spools when winding in or winding off distance sticks, that will definitely cause problems?

I had exactly the same issue when using cheap ebay braid on my marker rod despite not overfilling the spool, wetting the braid prior to casting etc
Really noticed the difference when I changed to stealth spiderwire.
Round profile rather than flat on the cheaper stuff, not had any issues with wind knots since and the marker float definitely works more reliably with the spiderwire.

Can anyone tell me if it has 200m markers on the 600m spool? Looking to fill 3 spools and like it all equal.

Been reading lots about braid fishing and it sounds like 99% of wind knots are cause by not wetting the braid before use.

I've got it on 5500 spools and had no issues, stuffs brilliant but as said always wet it. Struggle past 100 yards with it though. But then I do with Mono 😂

Been using spectre braid from eBay via China and it's been amazing, half the time I forget to wet it and I've never had any wind knots.
I use daiwa tournament braid on my main rods and again nothing, but on all rods I have underfilled them.

Cheers all. I might try stripping a little more of the backing off to see if that helps. As said, I've been wetting before casting, and no loose loops as far as I'm aware. I'm reeling off distance sticks but always put tension on with my other hand when using distance sticks. It's happened 3 times in my last 3 trips. Doing my head in 😂
