I have been given an original Fox Evolution Bivvy and am struggling to set it up. Can anyone tell me how the blocks the poles go into should bar orientated before I snap a pole trying to set it up incorrectly. Which poles go into the "double hole" side, and should the pole go in the one with the slot or the other hole?!

From memory you had to put the side and back bars into the blocks first, then the middle bar with the shorter front bars in first, I missed out the parts when you need to start swearing but you will find those bits the easiest 😂😂
In all seriousness, they are a great shelter, I still have and still use the mark 2 one

From memory I think you connect one side to the other so the two outside poles with the middle bar to create the 'arch' if you like, then add the two back poles and then finally get the two front ones in and that pulls it all into shape, the holes with the slots are for the overwrap IIRC

... thats the correct order.... front two poles go in the inner of the front slots in the block, that have a bit of a cutaway to them... push down on the block with one hand and slot the front bar in & up.... definite knack to it...hard to explain!!! nearly left mine at the lake when i first bought it

Ah yes, the slotted ones are for the front poles not the overwrap then, I nearly had it
and you're right, it was a bit of a nightmare until you got the hang of it, mine had the alloy poles as well not sure if that made it easier or harder

Correct.
Whatever you do, make sure you do not put the front poles into the holes without the cutaway (these are for the winter skin/overwrap) or you'll never get the bivvy folded down ever again.
The cut outs allow you to get some small angle to then remove the front poles for folding down and without them you are fully goosed.
