hi, I'm looking for an overnight venue to take my 10 year old.
We would like something within an hour of Bury ideally.
Not too bothered about a runs water but want the possibility of a few doubles or maybe even a cheeky 20 !
Any suggestions ?

Hiya mate
Is Pilsworth open? Not fished it for a while but there were some good fish in there - plenty of big bream as well to keep you busy

hi, not sure tbh. Its not got a great reputation. I know we can't always trust what we read but don't wanna chance it with my young lad.

Fair point.
Like anywhere you can find the muppet brigade at times.
There's always bradshaws in bolton. Under New ownership and the fish are much better than in past years. On site shop and food which is good for young ones. Did a couple of dáys sessions with my partners lads and it was good. Plenty of runs

Just had a quick look at Bradshaw's as I'm in a similar position looking for some where to take my lad. The lake can only be booked 24hrs at a time so no days, which is fine. But fishing is 7am start and have to be off 6.30am following morning..., Never seen them times before, that's an early pack away!

exactly my thoughts mate.
Have a look at Chester Lakes. We've hammered it over last 12 months. Literally dozens on most visits. He's had carp upto 13lb there but wants something bigger hence us looking elsewhere for a change.
Got my eye on Hillside Fishery.......

Thanks for that mate, your not the first person to recommend Chester fisheries, I'll give it a go it sounds the perfect place to get him in to the carping, need to go some where there's a good chance of catching a few so he enjoys it, if I can get him in to it I'll be able to get out more!
Don't think the lad would appreciate a 5.30 wake up call... don't know what there thinking with them start/ finish times at Bradshaw hall!?

Fished Hillside a bit when it first opened. Well stocked with simmos at the time up to about 25lb ish from memory.
Not been for a few years ... might have to give it another go
Not sure what the bonkers time rule is about at bradshaws though... I'll be giving that one a miss I think.

What's happened with Pendle view Mal, they were changing it to some kind of glamping site weren't they. What happened with the fish, the big Dutch common "Lancashire record" and it's mates?
