Afternoon Gents.

Bought two old Fox Rods and the cork handles are in a sorry state & the decal on the blank is looking tired. (bought the pair for 30 quid, so worth it for the side project)

Is there an easy way to remove both please?

The plan is to just replace the cork with a grip at the bottom of the rod, and keep the blank, well, blank!

Lastly, how much am I looking for the full eye upgrades?

I got a pair of 2.75 lb tcHarrison arbitrators built by Tony parker with the excactly the same problem the abbreviated cork is in a sorry state but have had them so long I cant part with them would love a refurb on them but havent got a clue how to change the cork.

I read somewhere about the cork, looks like we may just have to take a scalpel to them.

As for the decals, heating it up gradually with a lighter and rubbing it with a light abrasive material seemed to be the winner.

I'm all ears for less risky alternatives though!

Assuming you cant (or don't want to) restore the cork to a sufficient standard by just giving a light sanding, then I think it is easy enough to just cut it off using a sharp knife, taking care not to cut the blank. Use the back of a stanley knife to strip the blank.

Sorry no idea of the cost of rings.
