Is the only difference between these the length of the internal carbon pole ?

yes mate,I ordered the longer centre bar for when I use 12 ft rods and use the smaller one on my 10 ft. just a bit more length the longer one provides I like for 12ft ers but you can use the shorter one if you wanted to

yes, through your local dealer

if I was buying again I would just buy the micro pod as the longer bar will shorten down the nano size bar, I just like the small pack down size of nano as the smaller bar fits in the buzz bar pouch
