Hi all.

After some advise. I am trying to tie 20lb .48mm Korda Carp Line to 70lb .70mm Gardner Slinky snag leader.
The problem I am having is this. Once tied, the knot is good for a straight pull. If I snatch at it, the mainline snaps like cotton.
Knots I have tried are..Mahin Knot. Albright Knot. Back to Back Blood and Grinner knots and the Shock Leader knot.

Any ideas?

Does the korda line break if you tie any knots just in that and pull

If you apply a sudden shock load to a short length of mono it will snap. Apply the same shock load to 50yds of mono and you won't even take the stretch out of it. If you are really giving it some in those conditions it may not be a fair test. Or the line may be knackered.

Tied on a swivel and had the same outcome.

Makes sense.. just a little shocked at how easily 20lb line snapped..

I would say a bad batch,I used this in 16lb think it is and it was mega strong

You've got a bad batch, I had 20lb on my cat reels for a while and it's good stuff, only changed it because it just wasn't enough for the snags in my cat water.

I been using an Albright Knot for ever !! with every type of line

and never had a problem you got to have a bad batch as others have said
