Hi all looking for a new set or reels and changing my 5000t iv had for ages I have 6 going to keep 3 sell 3 and get something new looking at spending about 700-800 on 3 secondhand reels what do you guys recommend in that price bracket???

I'd look at the old version iso's I've had mine for 9 years absolutely love them I brought these after having basia qdx for a month used them twice in rain and dirt was getting up under the spools causing them to grind.I know you can use a splash matt to stop this but just changed them and never looked back

Is there any reason you don't like the 5000T's or do you just fancy a change? In our group of mates, one of the lads uses Basias and has had nothing but trouble with 2 of them. I use the 5000T's and have never had a single issue despite abusing them.
Jay with the Basias treats his better than his children with a splash mat, washed down every session, won't lay them on the gound etc etc yet still has issues. My reels in comparrison look like they are pre war and suffering but still feel as bad as they day they were new
but work flawlessly.

another one for original ISO. yet to see anything better.
a significantly refined but equally rugged 5000T/SS3000 imo
shame about the fast drag and the retrieve isn't high but the rest is exceptional

The Original ISO and Tournies are both great reels and improve hugely from have a service.

Swapped 3 tournament Basia for 3 S-5000t - I know also have 6.. I wouldn't go back.
Probably best to wait until you can get your hands on some reels in a shop and have a play..

Yea there nothing wrong with any of my reels been brilliant, it's just iv been using them for so long now only thing I can think of changing! Haha
