My 5 season two piece bag needs cleaning and I think it is too heavy for the washing machine. How do you guys go about cleaning yours. ?

Check for your bag, but dry cleaning is best bet.

If it is that the washing machine turns out to be the best way then pop it into one of those huge machines that are on some petrol stations. Good luck trying lift it afterwards though.

How I do mine in only just warm water in the bath like treading grapes !!
I use wilko pure liquid soap Dont use hot water or conditioner and really rinse it loads in cold water then tread as much water out as possible ! dont twist it ! then length ways on the clothes line
I have never had a problem doing it this way for years

Thanks guys, I will Probably go the bath route if I can find a container big enough to take it downstairs In.

You are right about the weather. That's the reason for asking now as I don't need a blooming great bag and it will dry quicker.

I had to do this the other day.
For me it was a case of hoovering up all the bits, going over with a warm cloth and soap, drying it off and putting some antibacterial spray on and leaving it to dry. Mine looks ten times better!

In 40 plus years of session fishing I have never washed a sleeping bag. Open it up and hang it over a washing line on a hot day or occasionally I'll brush some mud off. I find bags only last a few few years any way.

I get mine dry cleaned every spring. Costs about £17. No hassle. Comes back smelling lovely too.
