Hi All

I'm moving onto fishing a tidal river and doing longer sessions. I can't continually be resetting the sensitivity settings on the alarms.
Tried the "old school" tricks like using 2 swingers, one in front and one behind the alarms, also high rods with gripper leads and am considering getting the quivertip attachments on the rods, but that's gonna be expensive to do here.
Anyone got any extra ideas that might help me out?

Fish with No indicator ,straight from the bale arm over the alarm to the tip, with the tip slightly bent .

If it runs you'll know , if it bounces back you should get some indication on the alarm .

Line clips in FRONT of the alarm & running leads. That way you can pull them in to the clips tight enough to hold bottom still & will only release when a fish runs off with the bait. You can mess around with the tensioning then. John Roberts do some small diameter line clips for such a job (actually designed to stop false bleeps from wind but work this way as well).

Spot on , no need for indicators at all , takes will be two or three taps on the tip then bang 99% of the time .

Yes agree with previous comments no need for indicators rod tip will tell you let out some line so the current puts a bow in it lead will hold bottom better and not bounce out in the tide
