Recently got some new reels and never had this problem before so just want to know the best way around it? Washers I presume? It's tapering towards top of spools by a couple of mm.
Shimano 12000 xta if that's any help?

Yeah you need to add a washer or maybe 2 depending how bad it is

Are they a one washer fit all or?

Add washers to increase at rear, remove washers to add to front. Best to do it on the bank or at a field where you can take a lot of the line off the spool either on a cast, or with distance sticks, before winding back on. When you see a taper forming, add or remove washers under the spool on the spindle to get the desired line lay. Not as complicated as it sounds and once you have done it once, it is second nature. Make sure you keep the washers safe though as you may need them again should you change diameters of line.

I changed reel and it didn't donut on the other one. Is there anyway of salvaging what's on the spool that tapered or so I need to buy more?
Could you link me please possibly to what washers I'd need to buy they all look the same to me 😅

You will most likely require the LARGE ones as they are for the big pit type reels. If in doubt, give Ryan a call at Future Fishing and he will send you the correct ones (usually there during the week)

You will not waste any line you have put on already, just wrap it around some distance sticks, & reel it back on. If it starts to bunch up at the front, add a washer, if it bunches at the rear, remove a washer.

If the reels are new they should be in the box in a little plastic bag
