I've had my scopes a couple of years and the carbon on the retractable section has worn slightly. Has anyone done a repair on this to build it back up?

Its such a slow taper there is very little beef on the blank to allow for any wear, then add some damp and grit, you have inbuilt obsolescence.

Yes mate, its relatively easy to do, heat the butt cap up to loosen the glue and knock it out. This should give you enough of the blank to work with without cutting off the buttring as i made this mistake to start with lol. I'm unsure what the reinforced section is but i think its overlayered carbon. As it will be so worn anyway it is probably already keyed up so to speak so i built it up evenly with carbon spray applyed by a small brush not the actual spray can. You will be surprised at how little you will need and you may even need to very gently sand it back with some glass paper ensuring its totally grit free before trying it of course .
