Hi all.
I have been looking for a lake within about an hour of Nuneaton/Hinckley area. Makins is the closest to me currently but just not my cup of tea (6inches of water stuffed with fish). Wouldn't mind joining a syndicate or just after a quiet day ticket really.
Any feedback or other suggestions would be great. DM me if needed

All I can say is good luck!
Been looking for the same myself & any water I find that was quiet, soon becomes a venue that you are lucky to get a swim on even during the week. It is not the best area at all for carp angling & most travel outside of the area for their angling. Gaz Hood (Trakker's Media Man) runs a small syndicate in Hinckley but on the waiting list myself at the moment so not going to be a quick join.
I end up driving back to Cambs for most of my fishing nowadays.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I don't mind travelling but would be nice to have a good water on my doorstep and knowing it's going to be able to get a swim without being limited on the local day tickets.

After fishing Barston yesterday and getting my lines taken out 3 times it's time to find somewhere quiet for sure.

I'm from nuneaton myself and its a struggle, try seeswood, I'm sure you know where it is pal, not easy but peaceful, think it's about £110 a year

Seeswood sounds interesting. Not heard of it myself but only been in Leicester for the past 10 years so still finding out venues that have been kept hidden away.

What about coalpit fishery in hinckley its a day ticket but you have to book on
Coalpit fishery is a 1 acre lake that's is set in lovely countryside and well established it's been a lake for the last 30 years plus it was a match lake when other people left they took all the stock so it was a blank Canvas so I took it on and had my mind set on turning it to a carp lake and hopefully it be a lake with 20lb plus carp in here and have a max of 35 fish this will be a challenge for the hard carper I wouldn't say it be a runs water but when you have one it be a cracker.

regarding waters in Nuneaton , have a chat with Andy at Coventry Bait Rolling Services , there are acouple of syndicates back end of Beduff.
There used to be one that A5 Aquatics ran, just over the road , not sure if they still run that .
