Looking on sites the shimano 14000xtd looks a good reel but prone to snapped lugs on the line guard is this a reel problem or just misuse any help appreciated

Save yourself some cash and get the Penn affinity 7000 imo

Got these, never had a snapped lug on the line guard which is an important bit of kit.
Reels been ace, recommend 100%

Ive used them for about 3 years now. Line guard snapped once but the main problem is line going under the spool. Mine are going on ebay soon..

Id go with penns or Daiwa emblem 45 looks spot on too.

Shimano have never sorted the line going under spool, they've changed designs but never really cracked it.
