A new lake I'm on allows braid as the bars are kind of sharp, but still no leaders. Any recommendations on a decent sinking braid? Probably need 1000m but dont really want to spend £30 a reel.

Gardner Hydrosink 22lb, England Angling have it on offer post free at the mo, even bought some myself to try, loved the 15lb but found it a bit delicate

Braid and bars aren't a good combo, you're after the distance I presume?

Good point, a heavy mono would be better then but if it is distance you're after you'll have to compromise somewhere
