I'm in the market for some cheap rods to be abused on public lakes, as I won't need to cast this gives me the ability to maybe get something less powerful if need be, Ivey seen a few people say that the shorter rods are better for boat work like 9ft or 10s. Can anyone confirm they would be better than a 12, also as I'll be using braid would it be better to lower the tc seeing as I can because I can get over the fish in a boat if it gets weeded?

Any suggestions what rods?

I use 10ft dwarfs for all boat work.
I've got 3lb and 3.5lb. Generally I use the 3lb for everything from small water to the huge reservoirs and haven't had any issues, well I snapped a tip on chantecoq but it was completely my fault!

Thanks for the response, I've already got one of those as a floata rod so may just buy 3 more
