Hi guy , currently have a trakker rlx been great but just lately getting bad back ache so time to buy a new bed chair any recommendations?

Bedchairs are down to personal preference,what suits one won't suit another.Some people sleep on their sides,some on their backs.Before you spend on a new bed,why don't you try a self inflatable mattress on the bed you have.Since I put one on my bed it's made a huge difference.

I see a post dave ellyatt put up a few weeks back where he had modified his bedchair , replaced the bungee with cable ties, I presume for same reason. could be worth getting a cheap second hand one and modifying it

In my opinion if you sleep on your back you need a very firm bed to prevent back ache as mentioned a SIM can often really help on your existing bed
PROVIDED you dont over inflate it ! the air needs to be able to move around other than that a firm bed with lumbar support helps most people
but needs pointing out my opinion is mainly for people that sleep on their back or front

I replaced the elastic with para cord, so far it is better with no sag 👍

As already mentioned replace the elastic with paracord which should stop any sagging in the bedchair you currently have.
AS Gerry said get yourself a SIM will make a world of difference to the bedchair, I had one on my RLX and it was far comfier with it on.
I have just sold the RLX and bough a Carp Spirit air-liner which has a SIM built into it. It hasn't arrive yet so cant provide any feedback.
I think Aqua are also doing a bedchair with a SIM , but it looked a but pricy.

Saw a picture the other day where someone had replaced the elastic with heavy duty cable ties. I tried the paracord route once but just couldn't get it tight enough, granted I'm not the lightest though.
I now use a sim on a relatively cheap ngt bed chair and I sleep fairly well. Considering I struggle at home some nights it's good enough for bank time.

The new aqua bed does look lovely. The only downside is that you might need to sell a kidney to be able to afford it.
The upside of that is with only one kidney, you'll weigh less, so that might extend the life of the bedchair, extending the time before you need to replace it, which will obviously result in having to sell your remaining kidney and a lifetime of dialysis

My 20yr old fox bed has been transformed by paracord on the middle section and a sim. So. Much so that if I am only doing a short one I don't bother with the be Bed buddy any more. I sleep real well on it.

for me, and i've suffered a bad back on and off for near on 30 odd years,
and for me, the best bedchair i've had for a bad back, is the trakker els bedchair, best i've ever had,
i also have a trakker blow up under mattress as well, for extra comfort
i've heard good things about the solar bedchair,
but more than happy with the els bedchair,

My .........2019 Wychwood Tactical X Flatbed Compact bedchair with adjustable lumbar support and my sim
feels EXACTLY like my Trakker ELS and sim but obviously lower
I still have BOTH and still use both if Im using my 50" brolly on the very small tight swims the compact but when its nice big flat pegs the Tempest bivvy and ELS both are lovely and firm

Don't go down the cable tie route
I did this on an old jrc bed
Was great for the first 3 trips
Then the stitching on the loops that the elastic
Used to run through gave way
I think the paracord has enough give

I've recently started to suffer with bad back, would a memory foam topper make a difference? Has anyone tried one
