Specific relevant reference for us:
That activities are able to be carried out for 'any length of time'
Regarding overnight stays - the specific reference to overnight stays is that this does NOT allow people to 'visit and stay overnight at a holiday home or second home' .
Realistically this is about as clear as it can be (and is likely to get). Lets just hope the angling community can read this for what it is without needing explicit confirmation to the nth degree.
Hopefully we can now be happy we are allowed out (for an length of time - pending fishery rules), and can concentrate on being as safe as possible when we do go out.

The night fishing rule was never in doubt, not sure what triggered off all the confusion
Venues seem to be split on whether to allow it or not, why I am not sure about that either? Is it really better to have a higher turnover of people by only allowing daytime fishing only than reducing the total number by allowing night fishing, or in theory totally reducing the virus spread risk by remaining to keep a fishery closed? Each fishery can make their choice, nobody is right and nobody is wrong, though I do disagree with day fishing only.

So let's say you only have one member of staff/bailiff available to work? They should be available 24/7 because people want to go fishing?
I think it's up to the fisheries themselves to make the decision on how they want to open and do what's best/safest for them and their customers. Every industry will have to put measures in place that suit them for the safety of everyone, if that means opening for limited hours, limiting capacity then so be it. Just because something can be done 24 hours a day doesn't mean it has to be

And let's be honest, a week ago we would of been well happy if we were told we could go fishing but days only

Agreed, but I did also say it is up to each fishery to choose what they want to do. I now have the unenviable choice of returning to fishing and golf to occupy my retirement, sadly I think we will back in the lockdown before too long!
