Ive just ordered some castizm reels which i will be spooling up when they arrive but if i remember rightly the last set i had a few years ago im sure i had to remove two washers to get the line to lay level on the spool. Is this still the case? Cheers.

The 6 I have were perfect after removing one washer.

I found it better with 2 removed..

All mine were bob on out of the box.

Hmm all different then. Ive got an old spool of pro gold so will have a play around with that till i get it right. Cheers lads 👍🏻

Hi, sorry to bump this thread but I recently got some castizms and found when I spooled them up it left too much of the red lip showing when full at the bottom of the spool. Reading the below comments, would I have to remove any washers to improve the situation. Thanks.

To add line to the bottom of the spool you need to add washers so the spool goes further forward

Hi, I'm wanting to add more line towards the lip of the spool and remove line from the other end.

If you want more line at the lip of the spool then by removing washers it will make the spool sit lower on the reel so line lay will move forward
