I'm in two minds which one to get, I currently have the fox black label compact pod and want to upgrade to either the century stealth pod or the jag super compact pod.

Anyone have any experiences with either? I can't find the jag pod in stock anywhere does anyone no why? I can find the stainless look but I hate the stainless look i think it just looks cheap, I much prefer the all black look.

The black has recently received an upgrade to the new style levers, so existing older stock in the factory was understandably run down ready for the newer improved version.

Then coronavirus hit. UPE engineering who own Jag Products are a specialist engineering firm. Their machines have been repurposed to manufacture parts for Coronasvirus DNA sequencing machines and components for ventilators.

I'd imagine due to the Life saving nature of the work they are undertaking that machine time for the fishing products must be limited. I'm sure in a few weeks that normal service will resume.

Just one more reason why proper UK skilled manufacturing is so important to this country. Cos when the **** hits the fan we need to be able to rely on our home grown craftsman and women.

Also a lot of tackle shops are unbelievably busy with bored punters making lockdown purchases, so couple that increase in sales with a fall in production and disruption to the supply chain and you can see why stocks a bit limited for a lot of manufacturers at present.



The new stainless stuff is beautifully made. It's strong as an ox. If weight wasn't an issue for me, as much as I really like my prolight stuff, I'd definitely consider the stainless. It's lovely stuff.

I've had, or still own all 3 pods that you mention, although I generally prefer banksticks I will use a pod when needed, no problem. Of the 3, the Jag I sold, but it was very nicely made, good ano finish, very light and would no doubt last a while, but I found it a bit flimsy, hence selling. Bought a fox BL pod to keep me going which was fine for the money, but now use the Century Stealth which is really very good, light, stiff, well engineered, quick and easy to set up which was what I needed the most. Although not cheap, especially if you add some additional length banksticks, it's versatility far outweigh's the cost for me..

I am leaning towards the century stealth pod tbh, so kinda glad you have said that. Do you no the width of the pod/ banksticks cant seem to find any measurements online.

I no the stainless has changed but I still really don't like the look of it buddy

I'm sure it says 10 and 11 inches. Which is slightly to narrow for me.

I have the Jag compact pod and can say it really is a great piece of kit. I went for the adjustable and also have a couple of extra banksticks, it covers me for every situation I need now. Very well made and not overly heavy compared to sum. I didn't look at the Century one before I opted for the Jag, but did look at several others and am very happy with my choice in the end.

Yeah I went with the Jag 316 pod as well. Rock solid and stable.

I'd go for the real McCoy with a titanium Trident from Keith at Defiant , the century pod is a rip off of his creation

Tbh mate I thought that but then from what I seen he only does the stainless colour and personally I think the black looks much better always thought the stainless doesn't look god at all
