I joined but missed out on the live chat the other night. It sounds a good idea and means more boots on the ground other than the perennially useless EA. If that other perennially useless outfit calling themselves the Angling Trust had shown the existence of any vital signs Fishery Watch wouldn't exist. Fat lot of good any of them are right now anyway.

Yes FB , think I will join , it's to easy to take from our hobby , then moan and not give anything back imo ,
I have just volunteered to be a fishery keeper on a stretch of the ouse I fish in the winter , just to keep an eye out for poachers etc , think the two might tie in well together ?

Yes, every person who gets out and puts eyes on bankside activity is helping no matter how small the effort may look.
I think members will get an ID card, it may not amount much to anything from a legal point of view but from personal experience as a bailiff and 'punter' it's had the effect of getting the people I approached to show their own permits.
a go pro helps a lot I should imagine, can they stream live do you know?

I'm pretty sure the higher spec GoPro's can live stream if you use a suitable app

Lots of fisheries are having a limited number of members on the water each day as a security presence.
I had unwelcome visitors on Monday night and another Essex water has now kicked 44 people off since lockdown.

Hi mate. People got in but absolutely nothing around the Pool was touched. This obviously points towards poaching. It has been reported to the police and I've told them that there'll be a maximum of two members staying/fishing every night/day as a security presence. They had no problem with that whatsoever.
There have been absolutely loads of instances of poaching and criminal damage at fisheries since the lockdown started. Many, many fisheries are doing similar to myself to protect their properties.
