Good evening carp hunters,

Does anyone have experience with pumpkin (seed) flour/meal?

I currently have 10 percent peanut meal in my mix, but I want to lower the oil content. I was looking to replace it with pumpkin seed meal/flour, but I don't know it's a good step or just up the tiger nut meal from 10 to 20 percent instead.

Thanks!

I can tell you they swear by this stuff in Austria , they compress it into dinner plate sized wheels then they squeeze the oil out , these wheels are sold to fishing shops farmers etc. They go out in the boat and throw the whole pumpkin seed wheel out over their spot.

They also sell the meal in large sacks here. And lots of people here use it in their mixes .

I would give it a bash if I were you.

Heard some good things about pumpkin seed meal, never used it personally.Peanut protein from Baf could be a good shout.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your input. The BAF version looks perfect for what i want. The only thing that is a bit of a dealbreaker is the shipping costs. But i will see if i can get it.

Thanks!

best bait for barbel... was using it since I was 5 and dad took me fishing... you could fish for all sorts of white fish and than you just decided I am gonna go for barbel now.. took out few pieces of that pumpkin cake baited up and soon barbels would move in... people used to drill hole in cca 5x5cm pieces and thread them on line as method.. deadly stuff... in lakes I find that cat fish likes it to much and tend to move in if there are many around...

Theres a different version normally sold by health shops or ebay called Pb2 powdered peanut butter.,which is basically a defatted peanut flour.(+- 50% protein,12-13% fat.Its being sold in a original, and chocolate flavor.Think they do a defatted almond flour as well.Might be worth a look if you can find it in your area.

Thanks for those insights again gentlemen. I saw that those peanut butter powders have a lot of additives you don't necessarily need.

To my knowledge its only the peanut protein from pb2 that has other additives like rice protein etc.The pb original version has some added salt and sugar. Will be giving it a go in the coming weeks and send some feedback.Hope you get sorted.
