I want to get a small pile of bait out a long way but if I mess up the cast be able to redo it easier.. pva bags r gd but a pain if u need to make 3 or 4 casts to get it right..
Anyone fished a method feeder 150yrds? I dont see why not, get the weight correct, its aerodynamic, the esp one looks gd. I was thinking of wrapping it in my home made boilie paste then fishing a single grain of fake corn on a soft subtle simple rig. Thoughts? Nothing else has worked so far lol so got to be worth a try and I bet noone else is doing that.

The esp ones are very good,I have wrapped in paste before and give them a quick boil.I like it so it's still a bit soft so can push a few small pellets into the paste.I think might struggle hitting 150 yards though

Given the optimum casting weight of your rods and technique you should take the size and weight of the feeder into account.

If you want to fish the method at range, IMO the flat ones won't work. Unless they go in perfectly the bait is often ripped off the top quite easily at anything approaching 100 yards.
For that sort of range you want a proper round method feeder and a rock hard mix.

One of the secrets to method is accuracy. If you can cast consistently and accurately at 150 no probs. The other secret is getting your mixes right. Going to take work. I don't think your going to stroll up and hit it straight off the bat. If you can, power to your elbow.

Optimum casting weight for my rods is 4.25 - 4.5oz so I was thinking a 3oz method feeder, wrap it in my Hnv paste so it draws the fish in and stays on a long time as I would prob try just leaving it out there.. its tmmore to do with getting a tangle free supple small hookbait at range with a small bit of attraction without spodding.. it's the spodding at that range that I struggle with. I can get s pva bag out there but if I miss the spot and have to recast it's a pain in the arse even with pretied bags as it can take 4 or 5 casts sometimes to get it right... just trying to be different to everyone else.

vitalin mixed with hot water sticks like **** to a blanket,get it right and that will stay on the method no problem and will break down nicely. I've used it on a method feeder but not fished at anywhere near that distance,but have mixed it stiff and brought it back in after a couple of hours and it still hadnt completely broke down.

That's a good shout, I'm pretty confident my paste will stay on just need some recommendations on feeders that would be better for distance..

Korda method feeders might be worth a look,you could mould the paste to create a shape like a distance lead

Yea not sure that will work as nothing to grip to on the front, it's big and flat at the front isnt it

I think the Korda method feeders are the best ones available - not sure what sizes they do now though.
