I've bought my 9 year old son some 10' carp rods and was looking for some good quality but relatively inexpensive robust reels to balance the rods. Reels should ideally be black in colour, and mini pit looking, with reasonable line capacity, QD, not bait runner.

Korum have a new mini pit reel called the Zelos,might be worth a look.

Have a look at the Okuma Inception , I've got them on some 11ft Baby Ballistas , can't fault them for about £50 each .
