Just got my renewal from John Lewis, and of course it's gone up again. They currently provide me cover away from home for all my tackle, but their garage cover is not so good. I've also got a separate letter from them confirming my gear is covered when night fishing, which is useful.

Any recommendations on a company that have actually told you they do cover you when doing nights?

Always a bit of a minefield this one and will likely only ever know the answer if you have to make a claim.
I'm sure John Lewis's version of night fishing is if you are active at night. If they put two and two together and realise you are sleeping in a bed and bag the claim might not be so certain.

Do a price comparison, find a decent looking company, ring them and tell them how much cover you want for your fishing gear and go from there. It may put the quote up a few quid but you will have peace of mind.

Always ring them they will knock it down for you same as any insurance company

Go to a proper insurance broker tell them what you want and they will find it.

I also do Life Insurance, Critical illness, Income Protection and accident cover if anyone else is interested.
