So i now seem to be the owner of an Angling Technics MK3 Microcat and want to take it on a longer session.
i have a few options i buy a 3rd set of batteries for it or a solar panel?
Are the AT panels any good? or is there a better option to get one and make a kit myself?

I've got 3 sets of batteries and a solar panel for my MK3 procat. The AT solar panel is OK but obviously better on sunny days.

I have an old microcat and use a briefcase solar panel & regulator. They were once cheap as chips from maplin but don't seem so much the bargain anymore. Anyway, the AT ones will be same as others but with much tax added. Mine is a 13 watt 12v one, and keeps me charged up on long sessions, but you must use with a charge regulator or you'll fry the batts (mine can put out 22v in bright sun). I'd try maplins, rs components, ebay etc and see if you can find one that's cheaper than the AT one

Now that the little 13 watt panels have rocketed up in price I would not touch one for that sort of money 
Instead buy something like 50W this is lot more power I would just buy a better controller a 10 -20 amp one is cheap tho the one supplied will work of course

The powapacs 40w one can be found on offer at the moment. Can't comment if it's any good as still trying to chase my order 😔

I've just bought one of these, seems like a bargain.
Contacted Powerpacs directly and they sent me some crocodile clips to use it on my boat batteries FOC.
Mine arrived in double quick time from Total Fishing Tackle too.

WOW the 13W suitcase ones used to be £35 at certain times of the year at Maplins now they have gone , it seem that Angling TECH Have put quite a bit of Carp tax on them now.
