Just a quick question please as I don't really understand this type of stuff unfortunately.
Would there be a noticeable difference in charging a Powapacs Atom using the 40w panel instead of the 60w. I ask because of I have seen the 40w a lot cheaper then RRP in a sale but the 60w is the same price.
I am thinking of buying the larger Atom so I can use my Laptop for working on the bank and topping up other items Phones etc so I would possiably need to top it up hence above question
Many Thanks in Advance

40w is adequate for 78 Powapac IMO
Most panels charge only at max capacity in the mid day sun and the difference is less noticeable as the sun goes passed its peak.
Save £100 and get the 40w

I would go for the 60. The 40 will probably only serve your purposes mid-summer. As far as I understood from another user is that the 40w pushed around 8% charge on their Atom 60, with the panel on top of their bivvy all day in France.
But maybe now is not the best time to find a decent review. If you have time I'd gladly tell you what my findings are in a few weeks. So far I've tested the 40W on my Atom 60 every single time we had a (weak) ray of sunshine and I've yet to see the charge go up 1% within 2 hours. According to Carpology, their battery charged 50% on a 60W "within a few hours" on a cloudy day. No idea how unbiased they are though.

Ok thank you . I suppose there is nothing stopping me buying a non Powerpac version to charge the Atom ?

Don't have a clue. I assume theirs are very decent panels, depending on your expectations. I think that's my issue. My expectations are high and I was intent to get some work done on the bank. I thought the Atom + panel would "keep me powered" (their slogan) but now I'm expecting it to just "power me" - nothing more.
Maybe not entirely fair after not yet having had a decent day of sunshine to properly test it.

This can not be judged based on your findings alone.
Did you also connect the 60w and compare. It would also have performed badly!!!
I think you will find as the light levels are poor every solar panel is poor at the moment.
Summer months are best time to assess.

As I said, maybe my '"review" is not entirely fair given the current light levels and my high expectations. Nevertheless, I would have expected it to add more juice in 2,5 hours of winter sunshine than it did. I didn't test the 60, but at least Powa Pacs describes something (remotely) understandable to hang on to on their website. The Carpology review adds to that.
