Hi Guys,
Could anyone help me, undecided between the Prestige Power Porter Extreme and MK7 24v. Is there any actual load size difference between the two?
I know the Extreme is more powerful in the battery department, which is better for more gear and handling ability.
Don't want to make a costly mistake

I would say the Extreme is total overkill to be honest. With the Mk6 and 7 at least you have the option to use it without the rear wheels which a lot of people prefer. IMHO if you can find a Mk6 24v anywhere that will be more than adequate and save you a few bob as well.

I have the mk6 24v and it's brilliant never missed a beat and it's got up any hill Iv tried taking it up.
I too have the mk6 24v barrow and I take everything and the kitchen sink when I go and it handles it all in one trip no problem. Also goes well up some very steep hills on my lake, struggles a bit but gets there
Only issues I've had is with the chargers Prestige supply. I'm on my 3rd set of battery's now and second charger, both chargers have cooked the battery's. For my latest set I've bought a CTEK charger for them

Blimey that's not good, hopefully they have improved it on the mk7 as that's what I'm looking to get.

Believe it's the same charger. It was recently changed to this charger.
The first one I got with the barrow used to get red hot, I mean red hot as in couldn't touch it, smelt of melted plastic and the battery's were bubbling away like crazy inside. Got in touch with prestige and they said send it back and was given a replacement but had to buy another set of battery's. The original set still worked but were shot and was lucky to get a couple hundred yards out of them before they died. So £60 on new battery's and a new charger, same issues. Didn't get hot but had a loud buzzing sound and again battery's were bubbling away like mad. Got in touch with prestige again and they told me it's normal for the battery's to bubble away while on charge
If that was the case then why did both sets of battery's barely get me a couple hundred yards on a “full” charge
Anyway another £60 on a pair of battery's and got myself a decent charger, not used them yet so hopefully no issues

We all know battery's bubbling away inside isn't normal but prestige said its normal and was told that by their Yuasa rep (their battery supplier)

Funny how none of my other SLA battery's bubble away while on charge? Baitboat battery's are fine on charge.
Definitely faulty chargers and obviously don't want to replace the battery's

Ive got the mk6 24v and its been ace I had the mk5 before that and that also was brilliant - I only upgraded as I got the 6 cheap from a mate who was selling hence the upgrade.
I recently went to prestige and upgraded the controller unit to the newer version as y old one was damaged (My fault) and while I was there had a look at the all new mk7 and have to agree as mentioned below I think its overkill when all the others before it would do the same job.
What I would say is having had a mk5 12v ad now a mk6 24v I don't notice any real difference between the two in terms of power and torque
