Are the 45 emblem too big for 10ft rods anyone use big reels on short rods

If you feel comfortable with the set up & they suit you're fishing, go ahead. I have 5500 XTD's on 10ft Scopes (5500's weigh 105g less than 45's) and they feel great & balance out well...
