As a few of you will know this season I will be rolling my own bait for the first time and being a bait novice I am struggling a bit with pop up recipes. An above average season on my syndicate would be 5 fish so i don't really want to be second guessing inclusion rates and flavour profiles on a tricky water that could be months between bites. i was wondering if anyone could share a few recipes with me so i have somewhere to work from. i will obviously using a matching base mix for my boilies for a match the hatch presentation and will be using the same flavour levels or slightly higher in those for the summer and autumn. But would like to roll some high attract stuff for over the winter or as an alternative bait. I understand not everyone will want to share there best pop up recipe but if you could help me out in anyway i would appreciate it lads. especially a plum and squid recipe as its been my most used pop up over the years
thanks lads ATB jimbo

I have a few pop up recipes I have utmost confidence in.
First is rosehip (I use mistral) at 3ml, solar squid and octopus at 5ml and 2 drops of cassia eo all to one egg. I include I gram of essential ff6 in the powder.
The second is similar in that its fruit and fish, 3ml of tutti frutti and 3ml of Nash SSA, again with the ff6.
Third might not be a lot of help to you as it's based on Nash whisky oil palatent but if you can get hold of some this is my favourite... 4ml whisky palatent, 2ml of scopex, 1ml of SSA and 1ml of crustacean extract... All from Nashbait. I add milk b to the powder.

No problem at all, one thing I have noticed with the fruit and fish is that they seem to attract a higher proportion of commons than other combinations but are just as effective with mirrors.

its a 55 pound common i will be after its fate
i can think of a few instances where i have been fishing food baits and swapped to a high attract and had a common within a few hours. got to be something to it i can remember there being an article of some sort that was on about commons being more attracted to bright baits got to be something in it. just a quick question the cassia essential oil what is the purpose of adding that into the mix?. i know that oil based liquids work different to other liquids and rise in the water column which i suppose would be a good enough reason to use it
just curious on your thoughts

I've recently started including Mainline Multi Stim liquid in my pop up mix and also as a hook bait soak.
Being a very thin liquid it is easily drawn into the bait and also leaks out more easily than heavier liquids, pumping out a food signal even in cold water.
In my opinion it's a great addition, particularly if using single high attract hook baits with a sweet smell.

The cassia was added because I read somewhere it was both a good winter attractor and apparently also good for commons. If it is a common you are particularly after then the final tip I can give you is make the pop ups orange, bright orange....

Thanks Christian I will definitely be giving it a go thanks for the recipes
Amended.
JB Plum...Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Whatever attractor package you use, keep a drop back. This can then be used to refresh the pot if necessary.

Been a big fan of plum for years ken. Can always remember my old man using a plum flavour 20 years ago and no matter what we used it wouldn't out fish the plum some great childhood memories on that bait. Thanks for the tip ken
