I'm joining esne quarry in april, wondering if anyone has fished it over the last year or two..

Ive fished it for several years prior to the syndicate and was on the syndicate...up until last year..
Be ready to catch lots of pasties..very few original fish left ..most died when it got stocked with lots of small carp from Ed Matthews....you will probably have a dozen at most twenties to fish for..all low twenties..then you have the wrong uns that were stocked ..32lb and 40lb...for £400 a season I'd of joined much better waters..for that money to catch pasties is not for me...I fished for 3mts last year couple nights a week had over 130 fish and all ranged between 6lb-14lb the majority were singles and the ese were all stockies..I .managed 1 original out the 130 odd caught... Don't expect to go and catch big fish this isn't going to happen,, the fish are stunning but need a good few years to grow on..
I personally caught most the original fish prior to the syndicate leasing the water..sadly most of these are no longer..I witnessed several of the original carp dead and other prior members also witnessed this..

not the best to hear! I've not had a walk around yet but seems a lovely lake.
I dont mind catching 'smaller' fish for a season or two along as I know the fish are putting on weight, then it will be a good water when these mid doubles are 20's!
just sick of paying out for day tickets now and want to settle on a nice well run lake. thanks for your reply mate

any waters that the two people who run db fisheires are over priced waters ,full of dodgy fish..lot of cash to fish 4 singles and low doubles with one wrong un in thats escaped from overseas.

Db fisheries has nothing to do with esnes quarry nor Ed Matthews....and the waters that dB fisheries have are nothing at all similar to esnes quarry.. as stated that esnes quarry is run by Ed Matthews.. who has you put it stocked it with an oversees wrong un and lots of pasties...part of the rh circus

The bowl is £350 a year and has had fish from Ed put in there along with them horrible deformed fish from that other water.I know the owner did not have much choice to take them but that weird lump they all seem to have near the back fin is strange.Some bloody stunning originals in there though

Wasn't 100% sure on price knew it was around the £350-£375 mark...
Yep some of ed Matthews fish where stocked a few years ago and I hate to say it some are belters really scaley ones...
The other deformed fish your refer to are better known as earlswood mankos...yep Dave has his hands tied when these were stocked..however there are a few

I nearly joined last year,everyone I spoke to whilst having a walk around were very friendly and seemed to like the place.If I'm honest the only thing that put me off was how it seemed too easy to join and at the time every body seemed to be paying different prices.I understand if someone has been a member years getting a cheaper ticket but even new members were paying different prices

Yep decent set of lads on the bowl..however members come and go quite regular..
Some lads can't handle the size of the place..others can't handle the weed situation once it fully blooms it can be a mare..I think this puts a lot of the newer members off who have never fished a large lake or fished in extreme weed conditions.. this is why there is nearly always availability..it gets busy on weekends but you still have ample amount of water to fish...I tend to do a lot of mid week sessions around work..always a lot quieter..I've been a member now 7years and love the place...fish are piling on the pounds and plenty to go at 👍🏻

just sick of paying for day tickets now and wanted a nice venue that's well ran, hopefully in a few years all the doubles that are in there now are 20's. where are the main stock in Esne from?
400 seems to be a standard price for places like that now after doing abit of research on other places!

Personally I'd say a big No !!
Majority of members I've saw join don't last longer than 1 season
If being waken up throughout the night Catching singles and low doubles Is your thing then go for it👍🏻
