Fished it a few times, fantastic lake and holds some stunning looking carp. You can fish either end and aim towards the island or fish from the road bank. Maize and more Maize, bait up a few areas and keep baiting. Any good quality boillie fished over the top of the maize will catch you fish. You will be very unlucky to catch anything under 25Lb and there's a hell of a lot of 40Lb fish in there 👍

Fished it a few times many years ago found that the fish early part of the year generally held up around the back of the island and the best way to fish it was from either end of the lake.

What would be the best way to tackle the lake from the road bank as that is where I'll be fishing, I don't have a bait boat and don't want to buy one, I'll be taking cell, and be buying chilli mix and maize when I get there, but just wanted to know if there were any “hot spots” to look out for on the road bank,
Thanks guys

Can't comment on the island areas as not a single fish came off the island on my trip. But, I personally wouldn't bother with the chilli mix. Boilie and corn was by far the best strategy on our week.
Are you sure?
