Just after a bit of info and opinions on Moorlands in France lads. Planning on going to France next year after a few years not going due to starting a family, and this place has caught my eye. Seen a few videos on Youtube and it looks appealing. Has anyone been and had any good/bad experiences on there? Any feedback would be great, cheers

Keith, the owner, posts on here from time to time. I know he is posting regularly in a Facebook group called "Totally Carp". Great water by all accounts. Not fished there personally, but I don't think you'll read any bad reviews anywhere.

Moorlands is a quality, well run fishery with a great stock of big carp. Give Keith a ring and he will give you all the info you could need.

I've done a lot in 30 years and it's one of the best now and going back again next April. The fish are growing at an impressive rate now. It's short casting work and swims are more intimate like an English lake not enormous gravel patches. It is a long drive as suggested but travelling down the day before really helps.

I went at the beginning of April last year and had a great time, would recommend!
Keith and Alan will look after you on the bank.
I had a 45lb mirror PB and my mate had a 50lb common PB. To think there are fish 25lb bigger in there...
Recommend going on the Friday as well.

I've been a couple of times, and looking to get back soon.

Very well run fishery. Keith and his family are very nice people.

Plenty of big fish to be had!

The food is great also!

You wont go wrong going there IMO.

I went end of October last year on his last week and managed 6 out up to 49lb 30z. Keith was spot on and helpful to everyone around us. food was great and although the water levels were down the fish were still biting! great fishery!

Book with confidence but book soon as there won't be many spaces left for 2019 already

Quality big fish waters like this get full quickly

As already stated give Keith a call. He is also very active on Facebook

Been three times in last 5 years or so once u have saved some pennys will be going back!
Awesome lake, fish and owners Keith and his family are mega! The food is awesome banter can be great and always listen to Keith is my advice.
Don't be shy on the bait is my advice. Can be a funny lake as in you will have a few days when you are into the fish then it can go all quiet norm a walk around and a move will sort that out tho!

Nice lake, nice family, and cracking fish.

Listen to Keith, he wants you to do well. Keep it simple and I would say use the house bait (Complex T). The fish will let you know where they are and be prepared to move.

I've been twice, and was toying with going this May, but decided on somewhere else. I'll definitely be returning to Moorlands soon.

There are a few YouTube videos and I would say that Paul Smith/Lee May ones are good. I

Good luck Josh.

Been twice 2011 and 2013 both years in October, as others have said Keith knows the lake very well, it used to suffer a bit from losing water through the dam, but I think it's a lot better now. Any swim can produce the fish at anytime but it does seem to go quite some weeks, like any lake really. The thing with Moorlands is that there are some massive fish now present, some really fantastic looking fish too, when that alarm sounds it could be a double that has been spawned in the lake or one of the known 50's 60's or even a 70.
It's not a deep lake, but the fish do get in some very shallow water sometimes and can feed there too sending up plumes of sediment. I understand the water is much clearer now and a the lake bed much firmer.
Are you sure?
