I was in Asda earlier and saw bottles of walnut and rapeseed oil. I thought that these may be worth a bash instead of paying the extortionate price for hemp oil.
Has anyone tried these at all?

Toasted Sesame Oil is what you want. 10-15ml/kg. And its cheap as chips.

I think I pay £16 per litre for hemp oil (Pegasus) - which is not that expensive, is it?
If it's hemp oil the fish want - then I like to use hemp oil.......

Good oil is £6 for 500ml. Not expensive in the greater scheme of things. And periodically its on special offer for £5.

Agree with Nellieman on the toasted sesame oil as it kicks off a right slick in comparison to, even the better, thicker hemp oils, though you'll find that Ian Russell and a few other swear by simply slugging hookbaits in standard sunflower oil! Now that's cheap as chips!

Be careful with the nut oil as it goes solid in lower temps and more suited for summer use, sesame oil doesn't and it doesn't go rancid very quickly either.
If you fancy a glug its also very good for humans

I.dont glug baits in it or anything like that, it's pointless with oils. But putting it into baits is a different story....

I use the sunflower oil straight out of my deep fat frier when I drain it, that is not only as cheap as chips but even smells of chips.

Agree 100% TSO is one of the richest and most nutritious (for humans as well as carp) oils you can buy. I have always used it at 5ml/500g.

Until you get drug tested, then you have to explain the presence of the drug in your system! Can make for some interesting discussions with management
