I do apologise yes the Torrix 2.25 would be fine they are totally different to the 2.5 if rung properly.

I'm not after a players rod per se, more like my Free spirit XPR. There's no information on these rods anywhere, although I was told that they stopped making them 15 years ago. If anyone wants to look then I put a video on the well known site titled "Century armalite MK2 vs Free spirit XPR test curves. The difference in action is apparent but I actually prefer the XPR, even though the curve on my armalite is glorious! I'm guessing a 2.5 torrix will be similar to the XPR?

Free spirit hi's 3lb lovely to play fish.
My freespirit ES are fantastic for playing fish. I also have the hi-s which are great rods, but the ES have such great feel.
i bought 2 ballista 10ft stalkers 2.75 from jeffire and am absolutely delighted with them (thanks btw) - i also use freespirit ES and happy with those too. the former seem to have notably more 'through action' than the latter
