All they'd need to do to cause a riot at all tackle shops is to announce they were re releasing the original tech 12000.
Same with Daiwa...if they'd re release the SS3000 without the kerchunk.

SS3000's with modern but robust internals, if that's possible! They'd sell them at £500 plus no problem. Agree on the 12000's also. Will never happen sadly

I think that the use of black and silver is to denote their top tier equipment, like the XTR pasts for instance. I'd have much preferred for Shimano to to the same as the last version but just added the new technologies they've come up with, would have looked so much better in my eyes, but hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder right?
