I can't help with staying off them, I've given up 4 times, lasted over a year each time, but keep making the mistake of having one or a cigar when drinking, usually after a period of stress. And then before I know it I'm back on 30 a day
I think I'm 6 weeks in now, only hard thing now is the feeling of forgetting something when I leave the house, patting every pocket down and thinking 'what's missing' for ten minutes
The 'smokers cough' will probably kick up a gear for you soon, the lungs start clearing themselves, some of the crap that comes up is pretty
I find putting what you'd spend on fags in a pot a good incentive, pick a date in say 8 to 10 weeks and use the money for a self indulgent purchase
I used champix the first time round, but with some of the psychological side affects I think a doctor would be mental prescribing that right now

What I've learnt so far. Lidl crabsticks are better than aldi's, I'm not mildly allergic to milk so I've rediscovered cocopops and aldi's are better. I could never be a teacher. Pangolins are definitely not food

Thanks Duggs...I usually have a pot on the go and it never gets far past about 50 quid, then it's terminal tackle time
..Have my eye on a pair of Castizm QD feeder reels,so that will keep me going and will soothe the cough when it comes around. I've started getting sweaty hands and a bit irritable at times, but if it doesn't get any worse I should be ok. To be honest mate,6 weeks off 'em is heroic in my book, non smokers won't get what I mean. Keep at it Duggs.

Keep it up you can make it
Duggs has done it a few times now, just needs not to be a silly sod and have that one.
Good luck to both of you

Very true lol
I need to find a better way to relax on a cold December Friday than an Irish coffee or 4 and a cuban

Good luck 🤞 with the fags, it's doable but hard.
Try to think how hard it's been at the start (that's what she said 😂
To be honest you've done bloody well to try in these difficult times with this monkey 🐒 snot virus ☢ 💩.
What have I learnt "I don't need to read the Distructions my brand new Fox buzzers now as I've played with them enough.
Keep safe peeps
Lockdown will be relaxed eventually.

Both my parents were massive smokers,my dad is no longer with us and my mum quit a good few years back.My mum tried everything to quit, hypnosis, patches, sprays and it was a massive health scare that mad her give up.She woke one morning really ill, coughing up blood and it really shook her up,so much so she has not touched a cigarette since. She struggled at first after being on over 40 a day since she was 15 but if she can do it so can you guys.Good luck and stay strong

I found out that during self-isolation the lack of communication is so unbearable that adult personal classifieds seem to be a good idea.

what I learnt. or rather, had confirmed is that I am ideally suited to lockdown.
this year has been like a nice break from all the things I get obliged to do but would happily not.
family meals with inlaws etc.
parties
cinema
theatre
flying
crowds
shopping
I haven't missed the pubs. I saw my mates for a zoom drink up a few times
I don't like footy and sports etc.
The things I actually do like. Fishing and Cycling. Were in such high demand people couldn't get kit. but of course
we were all sorted for both as it is what we have always done.
As I quite like being at home, I have a functional garden with a basketball hoop, trampoline, weights, punchbag and hot tub.
(aside from people that have struggled financially and lost business which is awful and a ruined economy) I've enjoyed it.
The fact that by far the majority have called it lockdown and moaned incessantly about pubs and restaurants and holidays has made me realise just how odd I am.
I even enjoyed my kid being at home for months.

I gave up the cigs around 10 years ago , after finding that i had 2 dead areas of lung each the size of a 2 pence piece , that feeling of wanting one after a pint or a meal lasted around 18 months to 2 years , can't remember the last time i wanted one now , I was smoking 30 - 40 gauloises a day when i gave up ,they are a wake up call to the effects of cigarettes on the body !
What I've learnt on lockdown....
The Mrs isn't as interested in bedroom antics as much as I thought she was
Sky screen shows during working hours that include: wife's with knives, women who kill, black widows and how to maximise your divorce payout.
Compo / dole guys are having a riot with lonely housewives
My dog loves me more than I realised
And alcohol plays a greater part in my life than I ever realised
Best
Jon

I have definitely become more tech savvy thanks to lockdown. Stuff on my phone I didn't know about and some great ways to see family face to face. Finished my huge project with the guys from https://www.topwritersreview.com/reviews/grabmyessay/ . I even had a video consultation with my GP the other day. Thought I might struggle to set it up but it was straightforward and useful. ..Carol

Nice one.
I've learnt it was easier to put weight on in the first lockdown than it is to lose it in the current lockdown.
