Sounds good - they told me the same, and they also said there's a good response to the new price, so prob was a good idea to get in early. There's 50 swims on VWater, so even if everyone turned up on the same day (highly unlikely!) you'd all still have a spot to fish from, which is good. Only 11 swims on the Obelisk, much smaller than VWater, but it still looks well good. Make sure you ask to see the photo album before you leave if they don't show it to you during your trip round - some nice fish in there. They also have a closed FB page of their own - only just getting started, but will be used as their photo gallery - might be worth asking to get on that as well to see whats getting caught. Was fairly busy with walkers on the day I went round, but they don't seem to interfere with the anglers - perhaps the odd dog off a lead barging in, but you can get that anywhere, I suppose. Good luck with it - hope you get a place. (and I hope you're feeling fit - its bloody huge!

Andy said he'll be getting my acceptance letter sent out Monday so I'll be heading down there on the 1st with my money. He said he's processed about 40 inquiries so far and I think Total carp magazine we're going to be advertising on their stall at the big one show this weekend so it looks like they'll get the full 50 members.

Not sure I'll get down there on the 1st, but hopefully later in the week. Was told they've got to get some sort of gizmo sorted first, which takes your photo and produces an ID card - that's why you can't pay before 1st April apparently. As to the syndicate filling up, I wonder if all those enquiries have actually all signed up, or even been sent letters? Maybe that's just how many have enquired (been processed) to date?
I went to the Big One show on Saturday - can't recall seeing the Total Carp stand, but I did see the syndicate leaflets out on a couple of other stands (Sonik was one of them - there was a syndicate banner on display there as well).

There was a guy that was meant to go on the tour when I was there but he didn't turn up. I think the 40 processed were just enquires that he had replied to.

Spoke to Andy earlier today. He told me syndicate is now over 50% full and still receiving enquiries. Been dealing with them in receipt order but won't be keeping this going for much longer. They've had a few punters booking the tour then not turning up, so they've now slipped down from their original positions on the application list.
I'm going to try and make time at the weekend to walk the paths from the car parks - last thing I want on the first visit is to get lost pushing a bloody fully-loaded barrow!
There is a map available, but the paths through the woodland are not entirely clear.

Hi rob, is there any pick up for anglers from the car parks to the north bank ?
Also I used to fish it years ago for carp I had a 28 mirror with a heavily damaged mouth , has that ever shown up in recent years ?

That fish was certainly around when I fished it, was just over 30lb and had been out a few times, certainly up to about 4/5 years ago.

Hi all hope we are all well? Regarding some of the questions asked we are in talks with management about doing a swim drop of service. So a work in progress. The fish with the the bad mouth has not been out all the bigger fish have been in perfect condition. But I will keep my eyes open for it. Guys if you have any pictures of your old Catcher I'll be interested in seeing.

I agree. some of them swims furthest from car parks could be very rewarding to someone willing to put in some effort. Plus surely it's a better to have a look around before settling on a certain swim?

Agreed, I used to drive 90 miles and then barrow about a mile to a swim, all for a day session.
Made the occassional catch more pleasing. But each to their own.
