So just to be clear you can't answer why we havnt lockdown when they have the perfect excuse to do it
There is no perfect excuse though, is there? The data is all pointing to Omicron being an extremely weak variant, albeit highly transmissible. We should not be locking down for a variant which will NOT kill a high number of people who contract it.
As for the devolved governments, it's politics. Plaid, SNP etc will look at the Sage data and use is as a hammer to hit boris with on a wednesday in PMQ's. The reality is, Sage data has been wrong since day one. They give worst case scenario, and give "maybes" rather than solid facts. These have resulted in actions such as ludicrous decisions to close outdoor exercise areas, when in fact exercise is one thing that will stop you from being one of the minute amount of people which will die of Covid, let alone the EVEN SMALLER number which will die from Omicron.
In the period of me contracting covid to being "free", the rules changed from whole households having to isolate to due omicron, to whole households being free as a bird after five days. So, what changed?

I know that there isn't a straight forward answer and there are many factors.
I'm just trying to find how us not locking down fits in with the plan of those who thinks this is about something else and not a virus. And so far my couple of mates who have a different view, and anyone one on here hasn't been able to answer where it features in the “plan”

Anyone who works within certain capacities will tell you that technology is not to be trusted, no matter who makes it. Many who worked from home during the lockdowns are or were told to switch off Alexas, and any other form of voice recognition technology whilst in conference calls.

I don't believe in any great "plan" as it were, so I cannot answer that one i'm afraid!
All I know is people are too trusting of the people who they give 20+% of their earnings too.
People haven't trusted the government for decades on instances like the Iraq War etc, yet go in two footed when they get asked to give up businesses and normal daily life for a virus which all data models have been terribly skewed.

Don't know if posted elsewhere on this thread but those absolutely disgraceful scenes that have emerged of police turning up at a pub in Scotland on New Year's Eve is downright sinister and a worrying sign of things to come. 6 riot vans and a couple of dozen police turning up and causing mayhem that even the nazis would be proud of. How on earth the police can be morally content with all this they're carrying out is even more worrying than a virus with a huge percentage of survival should you get it is downright disgraceful and an embarrassment.
The country/world has gone stark raving bonkers and there has to be accountability for such carnage they're causing and continue to cause.
