I'd say the former rather than the latter, In my experience the latter very rarely happens in business (i speak from personal experience).

It's all about the money, AH has gone done and dusted they may or may not of considered him a loss. Stem the flow and make Dove a director, it's all about ego's these days. Every man and his dog is a director these days, no place on the board, no shares no skin in the game, just a name on a business card that really means that person is earning at least 10k pa less than he should be but hey they can tell everyone they're a DIRECTOR lol

Completely agree with the "Director" statement, I am exactly that, my firm dishes out titles that mean sweet FA.... ....and having been a "proper" Director in the past it is so embarrassing that I don't refer to myself as anything as such!

Mind you, a competitor firm give their senior sales staff the title of "Vice President"........I kid you not...
